Travel by plane

Since summer 2009 Tartu is connected to the world!

There are two direct flight routes available almost every day: Tallinn and Riga. More information on routes can be found on Tartu Airport webpage: www.tartu-airport.ee.

Tallinn

Flight to and from Tallinn is operated by national company Estonian Air. More information and booking on webpage www.estonian-air.ee.

Riga

Flight to and from Riga is operated by friendly neighbours from Latvia - Air Baltic. More information and booking on webpage www.airbaltic.com.

 

Travel by bus

Tartu has two direct international bus lines - St. Petersburg and Riga offered by couriers Eurolines and Ecolines. Both offer transfer routes to Europe. Online-booking and more information on their webpage.

Connection with capital of Estonia, Tallinn is frequent and comfortable - buses leave every 30 minutes (exact schedule available on www.bussireisid.ee) and it takes approximately 2,5 hours drive. Most buses between Tallinn and Tartu are equipped with wireless internet and stop at Tallinn airport.

 

Travel by train

Unfortunately currently the only connection by train is to Tallinn, capital of Estonia. Connection to Riga is available when changing train at Valga/Valka.
