Tartu Science Park delegation studied Finnish start-up landscape


From 22nd to 25th August was delegation from Tartu Science Park with project partners from SIB Net visiting three cities in Finland: Turku, Helsinki and Hämeenlinna. Aim of the visit was to get to know situation in finnish start-up landscape and meet key players in that field, seek out possible cooperation possibilites between organizations and find ways to promote and support start-ups in both sides of the Finnish Gulf.

During the trip following organizations were visited:

Aside considering start-up support themes were under discussions also innovation policy in Finland and their experience in creating and developing succesful innovative environment, improving communication and cooperation between universities and entrepreneurs, cluster developments and other issues that concerned regional development.

Delegation was made up of representatives from Institute of Baltic Studies, Stockholms School of Economics in Riga, Ventspils University College, Ventspils High Technology Park, Riga Planning Region and from Tartu Science Park. Visit is financed from SIB Net project within Estonia-Latvia Programme and co-financed by European Regional Development Fund.
