Science Park delegation at ScanBalt Forum 2011

ScanBalt BioRegion is celebrating its 10th anniversary with ScanBalt Biorofum 2011 in Usedom, Germany. ScanBalt BioRegion is the leading macro-regional network within Life Sciences and Health promoting BSR as a globally competitive green valley and health region. The Forum is organised and hosted by BioCon Valley® one of the co-founders of ScanBalt BioRegion and the not-for-profit association ScanBalt.

Key topics of the Forum will be:

  • ScanBalt Health Region - the Health Flagship in the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (BSR)
  • The Green Valley - Environmental projects and activities in BSR and the Barents Sea
  • Cross-border cooperation - Challenges and opportunities in the Baltic Sea Region

Tartu Science Park will participate at the matchmaking event organised during the ScanBalt Forum 2011 with a delegation of two Estonian Biotech companies (Solis Biodyne and TBD Biodiscovery) and Tallinn Technical University. The Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) Match-Making Event will be held during the Forum on September 23rd, 2011 from 9:00 -12:00.

The event is aimed at finding and meeting potential partners for business to business, science to business or science to science collaboration in Life Sciences. Participants will mainly come from the Baltic Sea Region states. The members of the Enterprise Europe Network help to schedule the meetings and will upfront try to bring relevant actors to the Forum.

Additionally, Tartu Science Park will present the subprojects of the EU-funded project Innovation for Welfare. Seren Eilmann will offer a presentation - Innovation for Welfare: Turning Welfare Challenges into Business Opportunities.

Enterprise Europe Network is the world's largest information network offering support and advice to businesses across Europe and helping them make the most of the opportunities in the European Union.

Innovation 4 Welfare (I4W) is a European interregional project. I4W aimes at improving the effectiveness of regional development policies that stimulate technology-driven innovation in the field of health and safety ("welfare").
