Semi-Final of New Europe Venture Contest in Swissôtel Tallinn

Capital markets await Estonian companies. Success stories and growth strategies for both big and medium companies will be presented on Feb. 15th.

On behalf of the Warsaw Stock Exchange and New Europe Events we have a great pleasure to invite entrepreneurs from Estonia interested in raising capital to participate in New Europe Venture Contest Semi-Final on February 15, 2012 in Tallinn, Estonia.

The event will provide its participants with know-how regarding capital sources for both big and medium companies.

The highlight of the conference will undoubtedly be the Estonian All-Star discussion panel on the topic of 'Entrepreneurial environment in the Baltics and regional expansion opportunities'. Exchanging opinions and insights will be:

  • Andrei Korobeinik - angel investor in several internet start-ups, co-founder of Flirtic.com and Member of the Estonian Parliament
  • Andres Susi - entrepreneur and investor, CEO of Flirtic.com, Founder of Cherry Media
  • Allan Martinson - technology entrepreneur and investor, currently managing partner of Martinson Trigon Venture Partners and founding CEO of Kurat.com
  • Margus Uudam - Head of Venture Capital Investments in the Ambient Sound Investments

During the event Märt Meerits of Silvano Fashion Group Ltd will present case study of listing on the WSE from the Estonian issuer perspective. Legal challenges preceding listing on the capital market will be the topic of Lawin presentation while Tomasz Ciborowski of Bank Zachodni WBK will talk about the IPO preparation process.‘IPO advisers and their role' will be the subject of the presentation of Jerzy Bednarek representing the DSBJ Group, Warsaw Stock Exchange NewConnect Market Authorised Adviser.

The day's agenda will also include a semi-final of the New Europe Venture Contest (NEVC) for the most promising and attractive investment projects in the TMT industry in Central and Eastern Europe.

The contest is a series of pitch events held across 12 Central & Eastern European (CEE) countries. Six semi-finals will be held in 2011 and 2012 in 6 CEE capitals and will lead to the great finale in the Warsaw Stock Exchange Chamber of Listings in March 2012.

New Europe Venture Contest (NEVC) is organized in partnership with the Warsaw Stock Exchange and Partners across Central & Eastern Europe. The contest targets projects in the TMT sectors:

  • T as technology such as ICT (information and communication technologies), clean technology (clean technology, environmental protection), Biotech (biotechnology, medical technology)
  • M is for Media
  • T for Telecommunications

Best prepared projects chosen in the Finals will have an opportunity to go public on WSE's NewConnect unregulated market or raise Venture Capital funding.
