Innovation for Welfare
http://www.innovation4welfare.eu/
Project takes place from October 1st 2008 - September 30th 2012.
Innovation 4 Welfare (I4W) is a European interregional project. I4W aimes at improving the effectiveness of regional development policies that stimulate technology-driven innovation in the field of health and safety ("welfare").
In this way Innovation 4 Welfare directly addresses two EU-objectives:
- it stimulates innovation with the aim to improve economic competitiveness as defined in the Lisbon agenda;
- it stimulates the creation of new products and services in the field of health related issues.
Subprojects
Innovation 4 Welfare focuses on the analysis, development and transfer of good practices in a limited number of carefully selected subprojects. A call for proposals will be organised to invite local/regional stakeholders to participate in the subprojects.
Only public and equivalent bodies are eligible to receive project funding. In the case of I4W the subproject participants will be technology centers, universities, hospitals, local authorities, etc. Since one of the objectives of I4W is stimulating business development in the participating regions, the subprojects will cooperate with regional SMEs which will also benefit from the project results.
