BALTIC ICT The overall objective of the project was to fostering the economic development in cooperating regions by better communication between the business and government by using modern ICT technologies

BBDN (Baltic Business Development Network) was set up with a goal to help small and medium size companies (SME's) start their business and internationalisation activities. As a means to that service- and councelling centres for SME's were founded.

BENCH was a project launched to support SMEs (max 250 employees) in target regions to better use existing knowledge and established contacts with China for the potential business development in China.

 

BORDWIIS+ overall objective was to provide European Regions with the necessary know-how that enables them to initiate and carry out a smart specialization process concerning the most relevant domains of ICT-based innovation.

CLOE (Clusters Linked Over Europe) was mainly targeting on raising competitive advantages of Estonian enterprises by developing regional and international clustering initiatives.

CrossBo and CrossBo II organized several international contact events with hundreds of participants from wood, food and metal sector. Also Reverse Auction - an internet auction with upside-down rules - took place.

ESTIRC was a part of international Innovation Relay Center Network, which included 33 European countries and regions. The aim of this European-funded project was to bring together partners to elaborate, develop and market new technologies.

FINESSE helped SME's to internationalize. Project included business plan trainings, matchmaking events and a database of appr. 500 companies from Baltic Sea region searching for contacts.

GATE's goal was to rise awareness of timber, especially usage of timber in construction. Seminars, visits and published information materials were means to achieve the goal.

GRISI PLUS aimed at improving the effectiveness and enriching economic development policies in rural areas by increasing the use of geographical information and geomatics tools (Information Society approaches and practices) to give decision-support tools to public key players and policymakers.

InnoFun targeted improvement of regional policies concerning innovation funding in order to achieve the ultimate goal of reducing the (communication) gap between innovation and finance/market/people.

KISoLL was a project targeting decision makers of perifery regions; its aim was to increase the role of R&D and product development of the SMEs in these regions.

LogOn Baltic served as a project to develop IT and logistical competence through exchange of experiences. The main output was a complex paper with suggestions and solutions for local authorities how to guide their companies in the fields of IT and logistics to put more use in the technical solutions available.

NPD-NET was a product development project, which mapped both needs of SME's and service providers in the field of product development. Also a guide how to implement product development projects was published.

RAIN elaborated specific guidelines for local investment politics that would help market R&D in the IT sector of the Baltic Sea Region.

SPINNO focused on reinforcing R&D and innovation systems in the Tartu region.

VBN Innoreg analyzed innovation systems of partner regions, exchanged experiences and served as a means to strengthen innovation and competitive advantages of these regions.
